Box Score DALLAS - Bishop Lynch (13-10, 1-0) defeated rival Ursuline last night 3-0 in front of a rowdy crowd at Jane Neuhoff Athletic Center.
After starting slowly in a very well-attended and loud game, the Friars were able to dig out of an early 7-3 deficit in the first set behind
Lyric Berry's seven first-set kills. The turning point of the first set was
Lauryn Lambert's massive kill to put BL up 14-13. The Friars never looked back and would be leading by at least three or more points until they eventually won 25-19.
The second set was much like the first, the crowd was behind the Bears, and Ursuline went up early, 5-2. The Friars would once again battle back to tie the game up at seven apiece. After it being another close set with multiple ties, BL would pull away when
Paloma Gonzalez made it 17-15 with a middle kill. The ladies never looked back and took the set 25-20.
The third set was all Friars, winning 25-9. Six Friars had kills, and the Bears couldn't do anything offensively with the scrappy play by the ladies in black and white.
As a team, BL hit .295, which is an incredible number.
Paloma Gonzalez hit an eye-opening number of .643, while
