ADDISON -- The Bishop Lynch volleyball team earned their second consecutive district road sweep Thursday night with a 3-0 victory over Trinity Christian Academy. The Friars (27-10, 6-3) had not played in a week but were able to take down the Lady Trojans (10-22, 2-8) with ease.

Lyric Berry looked fresh after the week of no games and it showed in the first set as she had five kills with a .714 hitting percentage. Ashlyn Zilliken, Leah Oyewole and Lauryn Lambert added two kills each as well to help the Friars take the first set 25-15.

The second set was the closest of the match, going back and forth until the Friars pulled in front 16-12 after going on a 6-2 scoring run. Cheyenne Luper was a big part of that run as she made the most of her time on the court, having all three of her kills in the second set. Oyewole and Berry matched Luper's three kills in the second set to lead the Friars in that category. Berry won the set 25-20 with one of her five blocks in the match.

The closing set was Lambert's best of the night. The Arkansas commit recorded four of her seven kills in the set and also had three of her 10 digs. Setting Lambert and the other Friar hitters up in the third set was Jessie Canavan, who had seven of her 14 assists in the third set. TCA couldn't keep up with the Friars in the third set and BL won the set 25-15 and took the match 3-0.

The Friars are now riding a two-game district winning streak and their next game will be the biggest of the year so far as they host Parish. This game will go a long way in determining who gets second place in district.

Sub-Varsity:
JV1: The junior varsity defeated TCA 2-0 on Thursday night. They move to 23-2 on the season and they have won 10 straight games.

Next Up:
Bishop Lynch hosts Parish next Tuesday in the Competition Gym. It is senior night and we will celebrate the Class of 2023 before the game.
