DALLAS - Bishop Lynch (0-3) continues to look for their first victory this season as they were defeated by Dallas Christian (4-0) 34-14 last Friday night at Roffino Stadium.
The Friars came out strong as they have in every game this season, and it was a tie ballgame after the first quarter.
Godswill Giadolor scored on a six-yard run in near the end of the first quarter and after a
Henry Nyhart extra point, the game was tied at seven.
The next quarter would be tough for the Friars to get anything going though, as the Chargers would score 13 points to take a 20-7 lead going into halftime.
Dallas Christian did not slow down as they scored the first two touchdowns in the third quarter to make it 27 unanswered points by the Chargers, making it 34-7 early in the third.
The Friar offense would then find a little groove on the ground as
JP Lacsamana scored on an 11-yard touchdown run with 3:12 left in the third. That is when Coach
Brandon Moats called upon senior
Danielle Howard to kick the extra point. The kick was successful and Howard became the first woman to score a point for the football program in Bishop Lynch history.
The Friar defense found something after that kick as they didn't allow any more points the entire game, including forcing their first three and out of the season.
Colton Monroe led the Friars with 15 total tackles.
Nick Collum had four tackles, including a sack for the Friar defense. Sophomore
Drew Richardson got the first start of his career and finished with six tackles and a tackle for loss.
Lacsamana and Giadolor finished with a combined 91 yards on the ground, with Giadolor leading the way with 53. Quarterback
Legend Howell went 12-19 for 88 yards and an interception.
Bishop Lynch will now focus on their next opponent in familiar foe Liberty Christian. The Friars will travel to Argyle on Friday to play in their last non-district game of the season.
