MESQUITE, TX --
Godswill Giadolor had a career-high 203 rushing yards while
Legend Howell threw for 200 yards and two touchdowns in Bishop Lynch's 41-28 loss to Dallas Christian last Friday.
Giadolor was a workhouse all night for the Friars as he rushed the ball 31 times and scored two touchdowns. He also had three catches for 21 yards. The senior running back has now rushed for 100+ yards in every game this season and is already more than halfway to one thousand rushing yards on the season. Add that to double-digit touchdowns in just four games this season.
Howell threw for 200 yards on 16-23 attempts and now has 200+ yards through the air in three of the four games this year. Howell's main target on Friday night was junior
Ty Bradley. Bradley hauled in six passes for 124 yards and two touchdowns.
Colton Monroe reached double-digit tackles for the first time this season and the fifth time in his career. The senior linebacker finished with four solo tackles and six assists with one quarterback hurry.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Friars won the toss and elected to receive the ball. The aggressive strategy worked as the BL offense marched down the field with a 14-play drive capped off by a 1-yard touchdown run from Giadolor.
The Chargers responded almost as quickly as they could, as they scored on their first offensive play with a 77-yard rushing touchdown. Dallas Christian would score one more rushing touchdown near the end of the first quarter to make the score 14-7 after one.
Both offenses continued to roll in the second quarter as both teams scored two touchdowns.
Ty Bradley caught both of his touchdowns in the second quarter for BL - a 12-yarder and a 46-yarder. This led to a Charger 28-21 lead at the half.
Scoring slowed in the second half for both teams, especially for BL who only had four possessions in the second half. Dallas Christian scored two touchdowns in the third quarter and the Friars' lone score was a four-yard run by Giadolor in the fourth.
