Bishop Lynch volleyball gets their second straight sweep on throwback night

DALLAS, TX -- Volleyball got their second district sweep of the week with a 3-0 victory over Parish Episcopal on Thursday night in the Legacy Gym. The Friars (19-12, 4-1) didn't play their best but were still able to walk away with a 25-19, 25-19, 25-16 victory over the Panthers.

There is no such thing as an ugly win, but the Friars seemed to be off their game in their sweep of the Panthers. BL struggled with unforced errors, having 12 serving errors.

Cate Hatfield recorded her seventh double-double of the year with 13 assists and 10 kills. The Friars hit an incredible .302 while the Panthers just hit .122 on the night.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The first set did not go as planned as the Friars looked up and trailed the Panthers 15-9. After a timeout, BL hit the reset button and found a way to win the set 25-19. Four Friars had 3 or more kills in the first set, led by Avery Seitz with four.

In the second set, the Friars wouldn't fall behind and once again took the set 25-19. Cate Hatfield had five of her 10 kills in the second while also recording four assists. Aven Crosby played well defensively in the second set, recording five digs.

In the final set, the Friars started looking more like themselves, hitting a game-high .480 on their way to a 25-15 set win. Seitz had six of her 12 kills in the third and Hatfield had seven assists.
