Twelve Friars earn All-District Honors in Football

Bishop Lynch High School is proud to announce that twelve members of the Friar football team have earned All-District recognition in TAPPS Division I-District 1. The Friars concluded a successful season with a 6-6 record, advancing to the TAPPS Regionals before falling to the eventual state champions, Liberty Christian. 

TAPPS Division I - District 1 First Team All-District
#3 William Estes - Running Back
Estes was the Friars' offensive workhorse this season, showcasing resilience and determination despite early injuries. He powered through to finish with 1,462 rushing yards and 19 touchdowns, while also contributing 116 receiving yards and an additional touchdown. 

TAPPS Division I - District 1 Second Team All-District
#65 Diego Chavez, Offensive Lineman
Chavez was a standout leader on the offensive line, excelling as the Friars' primary center. His contributions were instrumental in helping the team average 31.92 points per game while amassing over 2,100 yards in both rushing and passing throughout the season. 

#88 Ishmael Muhammad, Tight End
In just his second year with the Friars, Muhammad achieved career highs in both receptions and touchdowns. He finished the season with 36 receptions for 424 yards and five touchdowns. Demonstrating his versatility, he also contributed to the rushing attack, adding two rushing touchdowns to his impressive performance. 

#12 Drew Richardson, Defensive Lineman
Richardson capped off his Friar career with a standout senior season in the black and white. He ranked second on the team with 78 tackles while leading in tackles for loss (18.0) and sacks (6.0). His defensive prowess also included an interception and three forced fumbles, cementing his status as a key playmaker. 

#13 Weston Pomykal, Linebacker
Pomykal found his stride at linebacker this season after previously playing safety and tight end for the Friars. The senior delivered an impressive performance, finishing with 70 tackles, including 11.0 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks. He also showcased his versatility in pass coverage, ranking second on the team with 10 pass deflections. 

#1 Gabe Nimmo, Defensive Back
Nimmo made his presence felt in all three phases of the game this season, but his biggest impact came on defense. He tallied 75 tackles and eight pass deflections, while also contributing a forced fumble and 2.0 tackles for loss, solidifying his role as a defensive standout. 

#33 Eric Gonzalez, Punter
Gonzalez played a key role in flipping field position for the Friars this season. The reliable punter totaled 24 punts for 834 yards, consistently giving his team a tactical advantage. 

TAPPS Division I - District 1 Honorable Mention All-District
#73 Cooper Timmons, Offensive Lineman
Timmons played a pivotal role on the Friar offense as a tackle this season, providing key support in both the run and pass game. His efforts helped the team average 31.92 points per game and accumulate over 2,100 total yards in rushing and passing. 

#6 Ty Bradley, Wide Receiver
Bradley saved his best season for last, capping off his impressive three-year career with 10 touchdowns. He finished with 36 receptions for 610 yards and caught a pass in every game of the year. His consistency extended his streak to 25 consecutive games with at least one reception, dating back to 2022. 

#1 Gabe Nimmo, Athlete
Nimmo earned his second All-District honor this season, showcasing his unique ability to excel at multiple positions on the field. Whether contributing on offense or special teams, he consistently made big plays when called upon. He finished the season with 160 rushing yards and one touchdown, along with over 350 return yards. 

#8 Asher Wheatley, Defensive Lineman
The junior captain took a significant step forward from his sophomore year, delivering an impactful season. He finished with 43 tackles, 5.0 tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks, while also contributing two pass deflections.

#10 Alex Finley, Linebacker
Finley proved he will be the cornerstone of the Friar defense for the next two seasons. The sophomore stepped into a significant role this year, finishing with a team-high 98 tackles. He also contributed 5.0 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, and a forced fumble, showcasing his all-around impact. 

#5 John Medaris, Defensive Back
Medaris was frequently tasked with covering the opposing team's top wide receiver this season and delivered strong performances for the Friars. He finished the year with 56 tackles, one interception, and nine pass deflections, showcasing his ability to shut down key threats in the passing game.
