Friars Take a Set, Fall to Top-Ranked Prestonwood

DALLAS – The Bishop Lynch volleyball team fell in four sets to nationally ranked Prestonwood Christian, suffering its first district loss of the season Tuesday night at the PCA Athletic Complex.

Bishop Lynch 1, Prestonwood 3 (12–25, 25–23, 19–25, 14–25)

Bishop Lynch (18–10, 1–1) saw its two-match winning streak snapped by Prestonwood (27–4, 2–0) in a tough TAPPS 6A matchup. Despite the loss, Maia Raleigh turned in a 32-assist, 14-dig double-double, while Charlie Wells added nine kills and four blocks.

The Lions opened strong, racing out to a 17–5 lead that the Friars couldn't overcome, closing the first set 25–12.

The second set was tightly contested. Prestonwood again built a 16–10 advantage, but the Friars clawed back with an error-free attack. Wells, Camila Figueroa, and Kylie Love each tallied three kills, and Bishop Lynch evened the match with a 25–23 win.

The third set remained tight, with the Lions holding a slim 17–15 edge before pulling away late for a 25–19 win and a 2–1 lead.

Much like the opener, Prestonwood seized control early, building a 10–1 cushion and holding it the rest of the way to close out the match 25–14.
