Friars Fall in Regular Season Finale, Turn Focus to Playoffs

DALLAS – The Bishop Lynch volleyball team fell to No. 2 John Paul II in three sets on Tuesday evening inside the Competition Gym. The Friars finish the regular season 20-14 overall and 3-5 in district play, earning the No. 3 seed in TAPPS 6A District 2.

Kylie Love was one of the bright spots for the Friars, recording a team-high 11 kills along with five digs. Maia Raleigh's streak of matches with 20+ assists came to an end, but the junior setter still tallied 18 assists and nine digs. Camila Figueroa continued her strong defensive play, notching her fifth match with 20 or more digs this season.

John Paul II 3, Bishop Lynch 0 (25-6, 25-14, 25-19)

In a match that didn't affect postseason seeding, the Friars came out sluggish while the Cardinals set the tone early. John Paul II built a quick 10-3 lead and carried that momentum throughout the first set, taking it 25-6.

The second and third sets were more competitive, but the Cardinals maintained their offensive rhythm to secure the sweep. Bishop Lynch was outhit .071 to .307 and outkilled 44-21 on the night.
