Bishop Lynch Athletics Thanksgiving Recap

| By:
DALLAS – Bishop Lynch athletics stayed mighty busy over the Thanksgiving Break, so in case you missed anything while traveling, relaxing, or eating, here's a quick recap of everything that happened:

Football:
The Bishop Lynch football team's season came to an end in the TAPPS Division I regional round against Parish Episcopal on Friday, November 21, falling 52-7. The Friars finished the year 6–6, highlighted by several memorable performances throughout the season.

Men's Basketball:
The Bishop Lynch men's basketball team had the busiest slate over the break, playing seven games and going 3–4 against strong competition. The Friars earned wins over Fort Worth Christian, The Village School, and Bishop Gorman, while falling to Crandall, Carter, Woodlands Christian, and Rowlett. Three of those four losses were decided by two points or fewer.

Jeremiah Williams and Jagan Thomas paced the Friars during the stretch. Williams averaged 18.4 points, 3.7 assists, and 2.4 steals, including a 27-point performance in the win over Bishop Gorman. Thomas continued his dominant start to the season, averaging 16.4 points, 12.9 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game while setting the Bishop Lynch single-game rebounding record with 22 boards (and 17 points) against Bishop Gorman.

Women's Basketball:
The women's basketball team played five games over the break, finishing 2–3. They defeated Lake Highlands in the Allen Tournament to secure fifth place overall and added a win over Hallsville. The Friars battled tough in losses to McKinney, Ursuline, and HSAA.

Fre Vowels led the way for the Black & White, averaging 15.0 points, 3.4 assists, and 2.6 rebounds over the break. Her standout play earned her a spot on the Allen Tournament All-Tournament Team.

Swimming:
The Bishop Lynch men's and women's swim teams competed at the prestigious North Texas TISCA meet from November 21–22. The women's team placed fifth overall and finished as the highest-scoring private school, while the men's team scored points at the event for the first time in years.

Grier Beeson and Ella Whitney powered the women's squad, each finishing in the top 10 of four events. The duo helped the 200 Medley Relay and 400 Free Relay to fourth and third-place finishes. Individually, Beeson placed second in the 100 Backstroke and fourth in the 200 Freestyle, while Whitney finished seventh in both the 200 IM and 100 Butterfly.

On the men's side, senior Rush Trent broke the school record in the 100 Backstroke with a time of 57.50.
