Softball Shows Offensive Power in First Action of the Season

COMMERCE, Texas — The Bishop Lynch softball team opened its season in style, going 3-1 at the Commerce ISD Tournament last week. The Friars won their first three games before falling 8-7 to Honey Grove in the finale.

Bishop Lynch's offense dominated in Commerce, averaging 12.5 runs per game. Five Friars recorded at least five hits, with Aliyah Cahill leading the way. She tallied five hits, including a double and a triple, and a team-high eight RBIs. Kylie Love was a force on the mound, starting two games and earning two wins while striking out seven.

Friday vs. Kilgore (12-3, W)
Top Pitcher: Kylie Love — Two strikeouts over two innings
Top Hitter: Anna Medaris — 1-for-1, two RBIs, two runs

Saturday vs. Honey Grove (8-7, L)
Top Pitcher: Kinsley Dlabaj — One strikeout in one inning
Top Hitter: Faith Peterson — 1-for-1, two RBIs, one run

NEXT UP:
Bishop Lynch will compete in the Lady Angel Tournament this upcoming Thursday through Saturday. The Friars open against Lake Country Christian at 6 p.m. at the Portland Sports Complex.
