Friars Fall in Offensive Shootout on Senior Night

DALLAS – Despite tallying 10 hits and scoring 11 runs, the Bishop Lynch softball team came up short on senior night, falling 15-11 to Ursuline Academy on Wednesday at Ferguson Park.

The top of the Friars' lineup delivered in a big way as Faith Peterson, Aaliyah Bryant, Anna Medaris and Kylie Love combined to go 9-for-15 at the plate with 10 runs scored, eight RBIs, and 11 stolen bases.

Peterson extended her on-base streak to 27 games, dating back to last season. The senior went 3-for-3 with a walk, adding seven stolen bases to her Dallas-Fort Worth area-leading total which now sits at 42. She raised her batting average to an eye-popping .638 on the season.

Prior to the first pitch, the Bishop Lynch Athletic Department honored seniors Aaliyah Bryant, Alyssa Aguilera, and Faith Peterson for their contributions to the Friars' softball program.

The Friars 7-16, 0-5 return to action this afternoon when they host John Paul II at Ferguson Park. First pitch is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
