Bishop Lynch Sweeps John Paul II, Wins 20th Game for Third Straight Season

| By:
PLANO, Texas — For the third consecutive season, the Bishop Lynch baseball team has reached the 20-win mark, earning a 9-7 victory over John Paul II last Friday. With the win, the Friars not only swept the two-game series but also completed a season sweep of the Cardinals.

Bishop Lynch (21-10, 7-4) has clinched the No. 2 seed in TAPPS Division I–District 2 with one district series remaining against Legacy Christian Academy.

Game 1: Heatly Shuts Down Cardinals' Offense
Senior Will Heatly earned his sixth win of the season with a dominant performance Tuesday at McIngvale Field as the Friars defeated John Paul II 7-0. Heatly pitched six scoreless innings, allowing just three hits and striking out five.

Offensively, Bishop Lynch recorded three doubles, including a two-run double by Noah Herrmann in the second inning that extended the lead to 4-0.

Game 2: Friars Rally for Five-Run Comeback in Plano
While the Friars' pitching staff has been stellar all season, it was the bats that powered them to a comeback win on Friday. Trailing 6-1 after two innings, Bishop Lynch stormed back with a six-run fourth inning highlighted by two-run doubles from Luke Sokolovic and Sam Elrich.

Sokolovic drove in four runs on the night, helping the Friars secure a 9-7 win and sweep the season series over John Paul II.

Saturday: Walk-Off Win at Riders Field
After playing one of their games at Globe Life Field in previous seasons, the Friars faced Dallas Christian on Saturday at Riders Field in Frisco, home of the Frisco RoughRiders. In a thrilling, back-and-forth game, Sebastian Vasquez delivered a walk-off RBI single in the eighth inning to lift Bishop Lynch to a 7-6 win.
