Friars Sweep Nolan to Secure Season Sweep

FORT WORTH – Bishop Lynch (16-8) completed the regular-season sweep of Nolan Catholic (13-7) with a 3-0 victory in Hartnett Arena on Thursday night, marking the Friars' 30th straight win over the Vikings dating back to 2007.

Camila Figueroa once again led the Friars in kills, finishing with 11. Maddie Pope and Emory Mooney added strong performances on the attack, combining for 15 kills on a .375 hitting percentage. Setters Maia Raleigh (13) and Suzanne Hughes (11) each tallied double-digit assists.

Figueroa notched her eighth double-double of the season with 11 kills and 14 digs, while senior libero Katie Rebuck led the defense with 21 digs. At the net, Aliyah Bruner paced the Friars with four blocks, extending her streak to four consecutive matches with at least two.

The Friars controlled the stat sheet, out-hitting the Vikings (37-30), out-digging them (71-56), and out-blocking them (7-2). Bishop Lynch's .262 hitting percentage was its highest in eight matches, dating back to a .280 mark against Denton Guyer.

SUB-VARSITY RESULTS
It was a clean sweep across the program in Fort Worth, as all four Bishop Lynch teams defeated Nolan Catholic.

The Friars return home to host Bishop McGuinness on Saturday, Sept. 13, in the Competition Gym. First serve is scheduled for 11 a.m., and admission is free for all fans.
