Bishop Lynch Swimming Celebrates Women’s Victory, Men’s Runner-Up at BL Invitational

DALLAS – The Bishop Lynch women's swim team continued its strong start to the season with a second straight victory, capturing the annual BL Invitational title on Saturday morning at the KayCee Pool. The men also impressed, finishing second overall.

Before the meet, the Bishop Lynch Athletic Department and swim program honored the team's lone senior, Jordan Granberg, for her leadership, dedication, and contributions during the annual Senior Meet recognition.

The women dominated the competition, winning 10 of 11 events on their way to a 124-42 victory over Nolan Catholic. Ella Whitney reached the podium in all four events, collecting three golds (200 freestyle, 100 freestyle, 400 freestyle relay) and a silver (200 medley relay). Grier Beeson mirrored that success with three golds (50 freestyle, 500 freestyle, 200 freestyle relay) and a bronze (400 freestyle relay).

The Friars' depth also stood out, as Evie Leu, Carolina Girard, Emily Schwabe, Sophia Whitney, Caroline Hays, and Ellie McPike all placed in the top three of their events, helping secure the Invitational championship.

On the men's side, Miller Mayer, Liam Gallaher, and David Umana fueled the Friars' second-place finish. Mayer delivered a standout performance with two golds (100 breaststroke, 200 freestyle relay) and two silvers (200 freestyle, 200 medley relay). Gallaher and Umana also reached the podium in all four of their events.

NEXT UP
The Friars return to the pool this Saturday, Sept. 27, for the Ranger Relays at Jesuit. Competition begins at 11 a.m. at the David A. Segal Family Aquatic Center.
