Men’s Soccer Remains Undefeated in District Play with Offensive Onslaught over the Lions

DALLAS — The Bishop Lynch men's soccer team stayed perfect in district play Thursday night, earning a commanding 5-1 victory over Prestonwood Christian Academy at Roffino Stadium. The Friars improve to 11-4-2 overall and 5-0 in district competition with one match remaining.

Nate Nammari delivered one of his strongest performances in the Black & White, finishing with a goal and two assists. Geovany Flores and Nikolas Bartkoski also turned in big nights, each recording a goal and an assist.

Goals (Assists)
13' Bishop Lynch — Noah Chac (Nate Nammari)
36' Bishop Lynch — Sebastian Perdomo (Jesus Perez)
54' Bishop Lynch — Nikolas Bartkoski (Nate Nammari)
57' Bishop Lynch — Geovany Flores (Nikolas Bartkoski)
70' Bishop Lynch — Nate Nammari (Geovany Flores)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Friars have quietly handled their business all season, now with 11 wins and an unblemished district record. Their success has stemmed from the ability to rally from behind or strike early, and Thursday night showcased the latter.

Bishop Lynch jumped ahead in front of Friar Nation when Nammari delivered a precise cross into the box that Noah Chac finished for the opening goal.

The Friars maintained relentless pressure and doubled the lead 20 minutes later when Sebastian Perdomo blasted a rocket into the net, sending Bishop Lynch into halftime with a 2-0 advantage.

After a dominant first half, the Friars elevated their play even further in the second.

Bartkoski struck in the 54th minute to extend the lead to 3-0, and just three minutes later, Flores added another finish off a Bartkoski assist to break the match wide open.

Following a Lions penalty kick conversion, Bishop Lynch delivered the final highlight of the night. Flores made a dynamic run down the right flank and crossed to a streaking Nammari, who powered the finish into the top of the net to seal the 5-1 victory.

POST MATCH NOTES:
  • Bishop Lynch improves to 8-5-1 against Prestonwood Christian since 2019.
  • The Friars' 11 wins match last season's total.
  • Bishop Lynch is one victory away from finishing district play undefeated, a feat not accomplished since the 2019–20 season.
NEXT UP:
The Friars close the regular season with a trip to Plano for a rematch against Prestonwood Christian Academy on Tuesday at Lions Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
