Bishop Lynch hopes to give its home crowd a good show in the final game at Roffino this season, when rival Bishop Dunne comes to town Friday for a big district showdown, scheduled for 7:00 pm. The Friars (3-4, 0-1) and Falcons (4-4, 0-2) will face off in a game that will isolate the losing team at the bottom of the standings, while the winner stays in the fray for a league title. Friday's game can be streamed live on our NFHS Channel:

Dunne Overview
It's been a roller-coaster ride in 2019 for the defending TAPPS D1 state champions, alternating pairs of wins and losses and watching their record go from 2-0, to 2-2, to 4-2, and now 4-4 after last week's 11-overtime home loss to John Paul II. With two games remaining, the Falcons should be hoping to avoid any further letdown, as well as one of the district's lower seeds, which means traveling into enemy territory for a first-round playoff game.
Much like the Friars, transfers and graduation left a number of voids for the coaching staff to fill. QB Simeon Evans and LB Brennon Scott top the list of returning starters. Dunne has allowed 37 points in each of its last two games, district losses at Parish Episcopal (37-14) and last week vs JP2 (37-35). The Falcons are 4-0 when giving up 14 points or less. They're 0-4 when giving up more than 14. Dunne is also 2-2 on the road this season.
Dunne Offense
SCORING AVG: 21.3 points / TOTAL OFFENSE: 305 yards
PASSING AVG: 150 / RUSHING AVG: 155
TURNOVERS: 10 / FUMBLES LOST: 7 / INT THROWN: 3
Offensively, the Falcons go as Evans goes. The junior signal-caller has passed for 1,015 yards, eight touchdowns and just two interceptions, while also leading the team in rushing with 382 yards and a pair of scores. Evans has had his struggles, however, completing just 46 percent of his throws (76-of-166), and averaging just 3.8 yards per carry.
Grant Barksdale (220 yards, 2 TD) and Pearson Hendrix (163 yards, TD) have contributed in the rushing game. Leading receivers include Houston Robinson (16-240-2TD), Kofi Thompson (12-227-2TD), Alex Orji (6-129-0), Nicholas Johnson (13-124-0), and Jordan Crook (6-61-3).
Dunne Defense
SCORING AVG: 23.3 points / TOTAL DEFENSE: 310 yards
PASSING AVG: 213 / RUSHING AVG: 97
TURNOVERS: 17 / FUMBLES REC: 2 / INT FORCED: 15
While not nearly as dominant as during last year's state title run, the Falcons can still suffocate an opponent with speed on defense. In their four wins, the Falcons have allowed a total of 37 points (9.3 per game). In four losses, that total has ballooned to 149 points (37.3 per game).
Kansas commit Scott is back after missing a few games due to injury, and without a doubt the focal point of this defensive unit. Orji has a pair of interceptions, Johnson has a defensive touchdown, and Josh Emmanuel returned an interception for a score. Thanks to 15 interceptions by the defense, the Falcons are a plus-7 this season in the turnover margin category.
Looking Ahead
The Friars are on the road for their final two regular season games, starting with next week's contest at Prestonwood Christian on Nov. 1. The regular season ends Nov. 8 with a trip to John Paul II. Both games are scheduled for 7:00 pm.
