DALLAS -- The Bishop Lynch women's basketball team has flashed its brilliance many times this year, but with injuries, they haven't played full strength in many of their games this season. That remained the case over Thanksgiving break when the Friars' leading scorer
Maddie Heiss sat out both games.
The Friars hosted Wylie East on November 22nd. It was a close contest that went back and forth, with Wylie East pulling away in the fourth quarter to take the game 54-49.
Natalie Cardenas played one of her best games wearing the black and white as the senior scored 30 points on 50% shooting. She also added five rebounds and seven steals.
Bishop Lynch was invited to the first-ever DFW Feast Showcase on November 26th. This showcase had many top schools around the DFW area and BL was proud to be asked to play in it.
The Friars were matched up against Plano West, and behind great play from their starters, the Friars defeated the Wolfpack 55-53.
Natalie Cardenas followed up her 30-point game with 19 points and eight rebounds.
Ellery Sample played big in the post, finishing with 14 points and eight rebounds while
Bella Piccioni was hot from outside, hitting three three-pointers on her way to scoring 11 points.
Sample is playing well off her injury from last season. In her 12 games played, she is averaging almost 12 points per game while grabbing seven rebounds. Piccioni's three-point shooting has been superb this season as she is leading the team with a 38% average from deep.
