DALLAS - The Friars jumped out to an early lead and never looked back in their 61-14 victory over Trinity Christian Academy on Tuesday night in the Legacy Gym.

The Friars dominated throughout the entire game and played great team ball, with seven players scoring five or more points. Leading the way was Natalie Cardenas who finished with 12 points in just 17 minutes. She also added three rebounds, three assists and four steals in the game. Ellery Sample was the only other Friar to reach double digits, as the junior scored 10 points while grabbing three rebounds.

The bench scoring was the real story in this game. After the bench scored zero points in their defeat to John Paul II last Friday, they combined to score 24 points on 8-15 shooting and 6-8 from the free-throw line. Leading the way from the bench was Acya Narcisse who scored a season-high nine points. Londyn Perry also had a season-high with eight points while also dishing out four assists and having two steals.

As a team, the Friars had 18 assists to only eight turnovers, a 2.25 assist-to-turnover ratio. A big part of that was senior guard Bella Piccioni having five assists and zero turnovers. That is a great sign going forward for this team.

Next Up:
The Friars head to North Dallas to take on Parish Episcopal on Friday, January 13th at 6:00 PM. The Panthers are currently tied for second with the Friars with a 3-1 district record. Their overall season record is 19-3.
