DALLAS --
Bella Alamo has been playing some of her best soccer as of late as her lone goal was the difference in Bishop Lynch's 1-0 victory over Nolan Catholic last night.
Alamo's goal came with just a little more than a minute and a half left in the first half. It was a great set piece set up by
Alyx Beard on the corner kick. Beard found the running sophomore who perfectly chipped it to the upper left corner of the goal.
In a first half that was dominated by the Friars, Alamo's goal was much needed to make it 1-0 at the half.
In the second half, the Friars continued to get great looks at goal, they just couldn't finish. The 1-0 final does not do justice to how well Bishop Lynch played. It also made the final 40 minutes a little more stressful than it should have been as the Vikings only needed one goal to tie.
With strong midfield and defensive play, the Friars were able to keep Nolan scoreless. Goalkeepers
Lily Bracken and
Alicia Gonzalez combined for the Friars' seventh cleensheet, including third straight district game.
Alamo is now tied with Beard for the most goals on the year with eight. Beard's assist to Alamo was her fifth of the season, tying her with
Madison Murphy for the most on the team.
