Avery Seitz earned TAPPS 6A District 1 honors as the district announced its awards today. The volleyball team finished the season 23-16 and made it to the TAPPS 6A Regionals.
TAPPS 6A-District 1 First Team All-District:
Cate Hatfield: Hatfield played in all 39 matches for Bishop Lynch this year and finished top five in all major categories. She was first in assists (570) and aces (50), third in both kills (198) and digs (256), and fourth in blocks (27).
Maddie Smotherman: Smotherman wore the jersey for majority of the season and her defensive skills showed throughout. She led the team with 418 digs and recorded 100 assists and 27 aces.Â
TAPPS 6A-District 1 Second Team All-District:
Delaney Moon: The senior earned her second team nod with great defensive play as there isn't a ball on the court she won't get to. She was second on the team in digs this season with 374 and finished third on the team in aces with 37.
Madison Pflum: The sophomore came on strong near the end of the season and specifically during district play which led to this honor. She finished the season with 177 kills with 70 during district play. She also hit a team-high .331 in district play.
TAPPS 6A-District 1 Honorable Mention All-District:
Avery Seitz: Seitz was a huge asset to the success for the Friars this year in her first year of steady playing time on the varsity level. She finished the season leading the team in kills with 285 despite a late-season injury causing her to miss some time.
