Congratulations to these seven Bishop Lynch student-athletes on signing to play and continue their academic career at the next level! Bishop Lynch had an afternoon ceremony to celebrate Alese banks,
Ryder Bunfill,
Zachery Curtis,
Leah Oyewole, and
Nora Thompson.
Alese Banks - Track & Field, Air Force Academy
Banks is a four-year member of the Bishop Lynch track and field program. Last season, Banks finished second in the district in the long jump. She also helped the 4x200 relay team finish first at the TAPPS 6A North Regional.
Ryder Bunfill – Baseball, Asbury University
Bunfill transferred to Bishop Lynch this season from Highland Park. He has already had a big impact to the baseball team, helping them get to a blazing 5-1 start to the season. He is currently hitting .375 from the plate with six RBIs including a walk-off RBI single in their win over Southwest Christian.
Zachery Curtis - Football, Lamar University
Curtis is a two year member of the Bishop Lynch football program. He started 24 games of his career at left tackle for the Friar offense. In his senior season, he helped the offense average 147 passing and 150 rushing yards per game. In his career, he has been named TAPPS Second Team All-State (2022), Honorable Mention All-State (2021), First Team All-District (2022) and Second Team All-District (2021).
Leah Oyewole – Volleyball, Washington University in St. Louis
Oyewole is a four year member of the Bishop Lynch volleyball program. She finished her career with 695 career kills. In her senior season, Oyewole had a career high 286 kills which helped her get named TAPPS Honorable Mention All-State and TAPPS 6A-District 1 Second Team All-District. In her career, she has been named TAPPS Honorable Mention All-State (2022, 2019), TAPPS First Team All-District (2019) and TAPPS Second Team All-District (2022, 2020).
Nora Thompson – Rowing, Monmouth University
Thompson has rowed for Dallas United Crew for the past four seasons. In the 2022 spring season, Thompson helped the Varsity Eight win the Central Regional Championship. She was also on the Varsity Eight boat that finished second at the OKC Invite and the boat that competed in the San Diego Crew Classic.
