RICHARDSON -- The Bishop Lynch men's golf team collectively had their best tournament of the season on Tuesday as they finished second place at the Sherrill Park Invitational. Both
Owen Sibley and
Billy Gordon shot 73 (+1) to tie for first overall as the team shot a 305 to finish second by just five strokes.
With 13 other schools in the tournament, Shelton got first place with a 300. The Friars played well throughout the day but barely missed out on the gold. All four golfers for BL had at least three birdies -
Billy Gordon led the team with four.
Daniel Martinez had his best round ever on the varsity level. The senior shot a 76 (+4) which was good enough for 10th place overall and a medal.
Steel Wylie showed some great moments throughout the day as he had three birdies. He finished with an 83.
The women's team of
Barron Cate and
Chelsea Singleton both shot well on the course. Cate finished with a 96 and Singleton finished with a 111.
