Six Friars earn All-District honors in volleyball

Bishop Lynch High School celebrated as six members of the Friar volleyball team earned All-District recognition in TAPPS 6A-District 1. Despite a challenging 13-15 season that ended with a trip to the TAPPS 6A Regionals, the players' individual performances stood out, earning them well-deserved accolades.
 
TAPPS 6A-District 1 First Team All-District:
Maddie Smotherman: The four-year varsity member wrapped up her sensational career as the cornerstone for the Friars. She played all 28 matches this season and led the team with 366 digs, ranked third in assists (107), and tied for fourth in serving aces (19).

TAPPS 6A-District 1 Second Team All-District:
Maddie Pflum: The junior middle showcased her growth in her third varsity season, leading the team in kills (175) and hitting percentage (.286) while ranking second in blocks (44). Pflum also set a career-high in kills per set with 2.3.

Maia Raleigh: Raleigh made a stellar comeback after an injury-impacted freshman year. She led the Friars with 422 assists this season, pushing her career total to 502. Additionally, she ranked second in digs (219) and serving aces (33). 

Charlie Wells: The sophomore middle made an impressive leap in her second varsity season, finishing with 140 kills and leading the team in blocks (48). 

TAPPS 6A-District 1 Honorable Mention All-District:
Aven Crosby: The senior captain capped her high school career with her first district honor. Crosby was in the top five of four major categories, finishing third in digs (177), fourth in both kills (95) and serving aces (19), and fifth in assists (15).

Emma Poff: In her first varsity season, Poff made an immediate impact. She led the team in serving aces (44) and was second in assists (226) and fourth in dogs (159).
