Women’s Soccer Shines in SPC/TAPPS Challenge, Goes 2-0-1 Over the Weekend

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 DALLAS, TX -- The women's soccer team delivered an impressive performance at the SPC/TAPPS Challenge over the weekend, finishing with a 2-0-1 record and emerging as one of the top teams in the competition. The standout match was a hard-fought 0-0 draw against Episcopal, showcasing the Friars' depth and willingness to fight.

The Friars opened the challenge against St. Agnes, a team they defeated 1-0 in last season's TAPPS semi-finals. This year, they came out strong, quickly establishing a 2-0 lead. Sofia Hooks scored within the first 20 seconds, followed by Bella Alamo's goal shortly after. The Friars went on to secure a 3-0 victory.

On Friday, the Friars faced St. John's, a team they had lost to 2-1 the previous year. This time, the Friars flipped the script, dominating the Mavericks in a 7-1 win. Madison Murphy scored twice, while Alamo contributed a goal and two assists.

Saturday proved to be the toughest challenge, as the Friars were down several players and needed juniors-varsity call-ups to step in. Despite these challenges, the Friars held their ground against a strong Episcopal team, finishing with a 0-0 tie in a gritty match.
