Bishop Lynch Athletics Thanksgiving Recap

DALLAS, TX -- Despite having the week off to enjoy family, food, and festivities, Bishop Lynch athletic programs stayed busy with games and events over the Thanksgiving break.

Football:
The Bishop Lynch football season ended in the TAPPS regional round with a 63-19 loss to the top-ranked Liberty Christian Warriors on Nov. 22. Ty Bradley finished the game with 105 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Liberty Christian later defeated St. Thomas 63-0 to advance to the state championship against Parish Episcopal.

Swimming:
The women's team excelled at the TISCA North Regional Meet, one of the most prestigious competitions in North Texas. Eight Friars competed, earning ninth place out of 28 teams with 137 points.

Freshman Grier Beeson and sophomore Ella Whitney led the way, each finishing in the top eight in their individual events.

Men's Basketball:
The Friars had a packed schedule over the break, playing nine games in nine days and finishing 5-4 against tough competition from across the state. The team participated in the South San Tournament in San Antonio, the Fort Worth Christian Classic, and the Thanksgiving Hoopfest in Dallas.

Rebounds: Jagan Thomas, 8.3
Steals: William Schroeder, 3.0
Blocks: William Schroeder, 2.0

Women's Basketball:
The defending state champions found their rhythm over the Thanksgiving break, finishing 2-1. They closed out with wins over Skyline (48-43) and Dallas Thunder (52-47).

Points: Fre Vowels, 15.7
Assists: Fre Vowels and Londyn Perry, 2.7
Rebounds: Christina Giles, 5.7
Steals: Londyn Perry, 2.3
+/-: Ciara Osuji, +6

Wrestling:
Both the men's and women's teams competed at the Rockwall Heath Invitational, finishing seventh out of 26 teams.

Individual accolades:

First place - Maddox Preskitt and Walker Walls
Third place - Kane Preskitt
Fifth place - Maddie Diaz

Baseball:
Bishop Lynch Head Coach Justin McFadden and his staff led the 15/16U United States team at the Pimentel International Baseball Classic in the Dominican Republic. They guided the team to a semifinal appearance.
