Softball bounces back with big victory over Ursuline

DALLAS, TX -- After a hard-fought loss to John Paul II last Wednesday, the Bishop Lynch softball team bounced back with a huge 21-6 victory over Ursuline Academy on Friday evening. The 21 runs were due in large part to the 18 total hits as a team, including two home runs, two doubles, and one triple.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Often times coaches emphasizes getting off to good starts, and that is exactly how the softball team approached the game Friday evening. In the top of the first, the Friars jumped out to a quick lead by scoring six runs, including a two-run home run from freshman Kylie Love. This was Love's first career home run.

Over the next two innings, both teams scored four runs to make the score 10-5 going into the fifth inning. That's when the Friar bats really came alive as the ladies managed to score eight runs to increase their lead to 18-5. The biggest hit of the inning came from the bat of Aaliyah Bryant, who had her first career home run with a three-run shot over the left field wall.

Bryant finished the game going 3-4 with four RBIs and two runs. Megan Holter added another great game to her belt by going 3-3 with 3 RBIs and 4 runs. Kylie Love not only had a great day at the plate, but the freshman earned her eighth win of the season on the mound by pitching 5.0 innings with two strikeouts.
