Bishop Lynch Powerlifting Off to a Strong Start with Seven Regional Qualifiers

DALLAS, Texas — The Bishop Lynch powerlifting program is off to a strong start this season after competing in several meets. With their success, the team currently has four men and three women already qualified for regionals.

The men's qualifiers are Jacob Capiro, Jaxon Tran, Saul Sanchez, and Haden Chavez. The women's qualifiers are Thea Abssy, Faith Peterson, and Trinity Tucker.

SEASON HIGHLIGHTS:

Women at Wylie East Invite, 5th-Place Team Finish: 

Men at Royce City Invite, 3rd-Place Team Finish:
Women at Hillsboro Invite:
  • 3rd: Faith Peterson, 790 lbs (set a school record with a 340-lb squat)
Men at Hillsboro Invite:
  • 1st: Saul Sanchez, 1,320 lbs (set two school records with a 525-lb squat and a 340-lb bench)
  • 3rd: Jaxon Tran, 925 lbs
  • 5th: Haden Chavez, 1,400 lbs
  • 5th: Hamilton Walker, 1,175 lbs
Women at Wylie Invite:
  • 1st: Trinity Tucker
NEXT UP:
The Bishop Lynch powerlifting program will compete in the regional meet next. The women's meet will take place on Feb. 25 at Prosper High School, while the men's meet will be on March 6 at Arp High School.
