Women Capture District Title, Men Finish Runners-Up

ARGYLE, Texas — The Bishop Lynch women's track and field team captured the TAPPS 6A District 2 championship, while the men's team finished as runners-up in a strong overall showing. Over the two-day event, the Friars demonstrated their versatility across all disciplines — from field events to sprints. The women got off to a fast start and never looked back, winning the title by a commanding 59-point margin. The men came up just five points short of completing a Bishop Lynch sweep.

Day 1: Field Events and 3200M
Bishop Lynch showcased the depth of its track and field program, leading both the men's and women's standings after the completion of the field events and 3200 meters. The Friars swept the podium in both the men's and women's pole vault, with Coleman Gieselman (12'0") and Larkin Wall (8'6") capturing gold. Ty Bradley added another first-place finish for Bishop Lynch, claiming the top spot in the triple jump with a mark of 44'10.25".

Day 2: Running Events
The second day of competition began with a record-breaking performance, as the Bishop Lynch women's 4x100-meter relay team of Ra'nyah Lockhart-Sadler, Ava Sanders, Zoe Turner, and Sarah Sullivan shattered a 12-year-old school record with a time of 48.88 seconds. The quartet's performance set the tone for the day, as the Lady Friars went on to win the remaining two relays en route to capturing the district championship.

On the men's side, Bishop Lynch athletes frequently found themselves on the podium. The team's lone gold medal came from junior Dash Raya, who posted a personal-best time of 2:03.16 in the 800 meters, securing crucial points for the Friars.
