Track & Field Closes Out Season with Multiple Podium Finishes and School Records at TAPPS 6A State Meet

HEWITT, Texas — The Bishop Lynch Friars closed out the 2025 track and field season with a strong showing at the TAPPS 6A State Championships this past weekend, as the women's team placed fourth overall and the men finished 12th.

The Friars' state meet was highlighted by multiple podium finishes and two school records on the women's side. The 4x200-meter relay team of Ra'Nyah Lockhart Sadler, Ava Sanders, Zoe Turner, and Sarah Sullivan claimed silver with a time of 1:43.11, breaking a school record that had stood since 2014. That same quartet also set a new school record in the 4x100, placing third in 48.49. This was the third time they have broken the 4x100 school record this season. 

In the field events, Trinity Thurman cleared a personal best to earn bronze in the pole vault, while Coleman Gieselman took silver in the boys' pole vault. Owen Zsohar added a personal-best performance to place fourth in the same event.

Other notable performances included Ty Bradley (fourth, triple jump), Presley Tomatis (fifth, shot put), Olivia Joseph (sixth, triple jump), Naomi Mangwiro (fifth, 400 meters), and Lexi Bevers (fourth, 300-meter hurdles). The women's 4x400 relay—Sanders, Turner, Ava Marosz, and Mangwiro—placed fourth, while Lockhart Sadler also finished fourth in the 200.

Additional scorers for the Friars included Aliyah Bruner (eighth in both discus and shot put), Ofure Obasuyi (eighth in the 100 and high jump), Kendra Berens (eighth, 300 hurdles), William Schroeder (eighth, high jump), Dash Raya (sixth, 800 meters), and Bradley, who added an eighth-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles.

With multiple top finishes, two program records, and several personal bests, the Friars wrapped up their season on a high note.
