Another Record-Breaking Weekend for Bishop Lynch Cross Country

| By:
WAXAHACHIE, Texas — After a strong start to the season at last week's Plano ISD Invitational, the Bishop Lynch men's and women's cross country teams each posted top-three finishes at the Waxahachie Woodhouse Invitational.

Both squads were paced by newcomers who are already leaving their mark in the Friar record books. Junior transfer Harman Pope clocked a 16:54 in the 5K, setting a new school record, while freshman Emme Driscoll ran the 2-mile race in 12:27, the second-fastest time in program history.

The women, competing in the 1A-4A division, secured second place overall, highlighted by Driscoll's individual win. Cece Degeyter and Lauren Robert added top-10 finishes, placing eighth and ninth to help the Friars edge out TAPPS rival Trinity Christian Academy.

On the men's side, Pope captured first overall to lead Bishop Lynch to a third-place team finish in the 1A-4A race. Senior Dash Raya also landed on the podium with a third-place finish, while freshman Landry Rose provided key points with a 15th-place effort.
