Men’s Tennis Sweeps Eagles While Gardsbane Remains Unbeaten

FRISCO — The Bishop Lynch men's tennis team delivered a perfect 4-0 sweep of Liberty Christian School on Tuesday afternoon, while the women fell 3-1 at Stonebriar Country Club. Battling windy conditions, the Friars competed well across the board, finishing the day with five total match wins to the Eagles' three.

The men were dominant in their victories, dropping just five combined games. Ethan Ellman won his singles match 6-1, 6-0, while Cole Krueger recorded a double-bagel victory, 6-0, 6-0.

In doubles play, Alejandro Kolster Passos and Nathan Stuckey earned a decisive 6-0, 6-1 win, and Christian Williamson and Saoirse Langford followed with a 6-0, 6-3 victory.

On the women's side, Alex Gardsbane continued her stellar senior season, remaining unbeaten with a dominant 6-0, 6-0 singles victory. Katherine Ramirez battled in the singles match of the evening but fell in a tight contest, 6-4, 6-7, 4-10.

In doubles, Tate Pomykal and Veronica Athas showed resilience but fell 2-6, 2-6, while Ryan McGonigle and Ava Castanon pushed their opponents to the brink before dropping a marathon match, 3-6, 6-4, 9-11.

The men also competed in two exhibition matches, with Cooper Horne (8-1) and Foster James (8-3) both earning wins.

Friar tennis returns home to the Dallas Athletic Club on March 3 to face John Paul II High School. First serve is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
