Lawson’s Overtime Heroics Lift Friars to District-Opening Victory

DALLAS — The Bishop Lynch men's lacrosse team opened district play with a thrilling 12-11 overtime victory over All Saints at Roffino Stadium, as Luke Lawson delivered the game-winner in the final seconds of the extra period on Thursday night.

The Friars were forced to rally after falling behind early, trailing 6-3 at halftime and 9-7 in the third quarter. Cole Gathings sparked the comeback with a game-high four goals, while Robert Parsons anchored the defense with 11 saves to keep Bishop Lynch within striking distance.

In overtime, Hudson Hatfield managed the clock before attacking from the right side in the closing seconds. After drawing the defense, he found Lawson, who made a move to his right and buried the game-winning shot as time expired.

Lawson finished with two goals and an assist, while Ryan Vigil and Corbin Hernandez combined for four goals and six assists in the win.

NEXT UP
The Friars hit the road for their first district away game as they travel to face Hillcrest next Tuesday, April 14.
