Historic Friars Season Ends at State Championship

DALLAS — The Bishop Lynch men's lacrosse team saw its historic season come to an end Saturday in the THSLL Class D State Championship, falling to Fort Worth All Saints 14-7 at Highland Park's Highlander Stadium.

The runners-up finish capped a milestone season for the Friars, who captured the program's first district championship and finished with a program-record six wins.

The championship matchup marked the third meeting between Bishop Lynch and All Saints this season, with both previous contests decided by just three goals total. The Friars earned a dramatic 12-11 overtime victory on April 9, while the Saints responded with a 12-10 win on April 17.

In Saturday's title game, All Saints jumped out to an early lead and maintained control throughout the afternoon. Despite a three-goal performance from Cole Gathings, the Friars were unable to close the gap.

Corbin Hernandez added two goals, while Ryan Vigil and Hudson Hatfield each found the back of the net once. Vigil also contributed two assists in the championship effort.

Congratulations to the entire Bishop Lynch men's lacrosse team and coaching staff on an incredible season that featured program milestones, unforgettable moments, and continued growth for the program. The Friars' run to the state championship showcased the determination and progress of Bishop Lynch lacrosse throughout the spring.
