Two wins in four days might be just the momentum the Friars need heading into Tuesday's district game at Bishop Dunne, a game in which if the Friars win, they can clinch a playoff spot.
The Friars (13-16-1) rallied to beat John Paul II on Friday at home then used a late push Monday to put away TACA in a non-district game at AirHogs Stadium in Grand Prairie. They'll play this afternoon at Dunne with a 4:00 pm first pitch.
Jalen Webster continues to hit well, driving in two runs against JPII and totaling three hits and four RBIs, as well as a pair of doubles. The junior also swiped two bags on Monday.
Max Danielsen started slow Friday but pitched well in 5+ innings to earn the win, his sixth of the year. George Hettrick shut down the Cardinals to earn the save. Darries Boyd earned his first mound win Monday against TACA. Boyd also doubled against JPII.
