CEDAR HILL -- The Bishop Lynch baseball team is off to one of, if not the best start in school history. With last night's crushing 17-0 victory over Newman International Academy at Cedar Hill, the team moves to 17-3 on the season.
If you can name anyone on the baseball roster, they most likely had a hit and/or an RBI last night. Every Friar that stepped into the batter's box was looking to be a part of the action, with seven Friars recording an RBI. Leading the way was junior captain
Ben McLean, who went 3-4 with four RBIs and two runs scored. His two-run RBI double in the top of the second fueled the Friars to a nine-run inning.
Grayson Wise also had a great day at the plate, going 2-2 with three RBIs. In the first inning, Wise stole second base for his 16th stolen base of the year, which is tied for the lead on the team with
Luke Sokolovic.
Getting the start on the bump was the junior lefty
Cash Carpenter. This was Carpenter's first outing since February 24th against South Garland and he performed well in the three innings. With Sokolovic behind the plate, Carpenter only gave up one hit and struck out four batters to earn the win.
With district play just over the horizon, the Friars look to finish their non-district schedule strong.
NEXT UP:
The Friars host Greenhill on Friday at The Mack. We hope to see you there as this is just the second home game the Friars have played all year. It will be a great way to start Spring Break.
