Bishop Lynch at Parish Episcopal: Regional Preview

DALLAS, Texas  — Same game. Same team. Same arena.

For the second consecutive year, Bishop Lynch and Parish Episcopal will face off in the TAPPS 6A regional finals. Just like last season, Parish enters as the No. 1 seed and will host the game, but the Friars are determined to get their revenge. 

Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. tonight at Panther Gym. Students from both schools will receive free admission, while tickets for all others can be purchased here. The game will also be livestreamed by Game On Sports Network here. 

Bishop Lynch at a Glance 

The Friars (25-12, 5-1) enter the regional finals playing their best basketball, matching a season-best four-game winning streak dating back to the first four games of the year. They advanced to the regionals with a dominant 75-48 win over Trinity Christian in the area round.

To pull off an upset, Bishop Lynch will need a similar performance to its last outing. If William Schroeder, Grady Norton, and Paxton Scalf continue their strong play, the Friars could be on their way to the state semifinals next weekend.

Parish Episcopal at a Glance 

Parish Episcopal (32-4, 6-0) has shown no signs of slowing down after last season's state championship. The Panthers have been consistently among the top five teams in The Dallas Morning News weekly rankings. They punched their ticket to the regionals with a tight 42-40 victory over Legacy Christian Academy on Tuesday. 

Twin brothers Armon and Antoine Almuttar have only improved following their All-State campaigns last season. Meanwhile, Hudson Lucas, a Kaufman transfer, has seamlessly integrated into the lineup. In the previous matchup against Bishop Lynch, Lucas led all scorers with 18 points while adding four rebounds and two blocks.

Regular Season Matchup

The teams previously met on Dec. 3 at Panther Gym, where Parish jumped out to a 20-9 first-quarter lead and secured a 68-49 victory over Bishop Lynch.
