Bishop Lynch at Prestonwood: Reginal Preview

DALLAS, Texas — Bishop Lynch women's basketball is hoping that the third time is the charm on Saturday afternoon when they travel to Plano to take on Prestonwood Christian in the TAPPS regional finals. The Friars lost both contests to the Lady Lions this season but have shown that they can compete against the district champions.

Tipoff is set for 2:30 p.m. tomorrow at the PCA Field House. Tickets can be purchased ahead of time here, and the game will be livestreamed on the Prestonwood Fan Hudl. 

Bishop Lynch at a Glance 

The Friars (20-16, 8-0) upset Nolan Catholic on Tuesday night in Fort Worth to reach the regional finals. A gutsy fourth-quarter performance from Fre Vowels and Londyn Perry pushed Bishop Lynch to the 45-37 victory.

In both of the Friars' contests against the Lions this season, they played well for three quarters but not all four. Bishop Lynch will need to find a way to play a complete game for a chance at advancing to the semifinals and defending their title. Vowels and Perry will need one or two teammates to step up to take some pressure off them. Addy Flowers, Lily Reyes, Kate Webb, and Christian Giles have all shown they can be that teammate.

Prestonwood Christian at a Glance 

The Lady Lions (27-6, 8-0) have been a force to reckon with since the calendar flipped to 2025. They are 10-0, beating opponents by an astonishing 27.7 points per game. Prestonwood advanced to the regionals by defeating Trinity Christian Academy 74-20 on Tuesday.


The district champs have many playmakers, but Allie Swindell stands out the most. She had a double-double in both games against the Friars this season, averaging 13 points and 10.5 rebounds. Mylee Guinn can also put up some points, as she averaged 12 points in the two games against BL.
