DeSmeth’s Hat Trick Clinches Undefeated District Record for District Champions

PLANO — Jack DeSmeth delivered a dominant performance with a hat trick and an assist to lead the Bishop Lynch men's soccer team to a 5-0 victory over Prestonwood Christian Academy Tuesday night at Lions Stadium.

The win capped a perfect district campaign for the Friars, who finished 6-0 to secure the TAPPS district championship for the first time since the 2019-2020 season.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Bishop Lynch controlled the match from the opening whistle, applying constant pressure and dictating the pace throughout.

DeSmeth opened the scoring off a setup from Nate Nammari before assisting on Geovany Flores' goal to double the advantage. The senior forward then took over, scoring twice more — once on a free kick and once from the penalty spot — to complete the hat trick and put the match out of reach.

Nate Nammari capped the scoring late in the match, finishing a pass from Raphael Reagins to seal the 5-0 shutout victory.

Bishop Lynch finishes the regular season 12-4-2 overall and 6-0 in district play, earning the No. 1 playoff seed.
The Friars improved to 4-0 in true road matches this season.
