DALLAS - Bishop Lynch women's soccer team won their first game of the season with a 2-0 victory over Greenhill on Thursday evening in Roffino Stadium.
Two first-half goals proved to be too much for the Hornets. The Friars' first goal of the season came from the foot of freshman
Isabella Alamo. Alamo got past the Hornets backline with her speed to give BL the 1-0 lead. The second goal was arguably even more spectacular as it came from
Jillian Jackson's head. Jackson positioned herself perfectly on a set-piece, and when the ball was sent into the box, she flicked it back towards the goal and over the keeper's head to make it 2-0. It was a big moment for her and the team as she suffered a season-ending knee injury last year playing at Greenhill.
This game marked the first career victory for Coach
Michael Dawdy. Friar Nation is excited for him, and Bishop Lynch Athletics knows that this is the start of something special for the women's soccer program.
