Bishop Lynch vs. Trinity Christian: Area Preview

DALLAS, Texas  — For the first time since the 2020-21 season, the Bishop Lynch men's basketball program will host a playoff game as the Friars take on Trinity Christian Academy in the TAPPS 6A area round. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m., with a live stream available on the Bishop Lynch Athletics YouTube.

These two rivals are no strangers to each other, having met 34 times since 2008. Trinity Christian holds a slight edge in the series with an 18-16 record, but Bishop Lynch has won seven of the last 10 matchups, including a 74-61 victory just two weeks ago. 

Bishop Lynch at a Glance 

The Friars (24-12, 5-1) claimed a share of the district title for the first time since 2018-19. However, due to tiebreakers, Prestonwood Christian earned the No. 1 seed, while Bishop Lynch secured the No. 2 spot. The Friars enter the playoffs on a three-game winning streak and are playing some of their best basketball of the season.

Bishop Lynch boasts a lengthy, athletic roster capable of attacking at all levels on offense. Junior Jeremiah Williams has stepped into a larger role this season, leading the team with nearly 16 points per game.

Trinity Christian at a Glance 

Trinity Christian (19-14, 2-4) locked up the No. 3 seed in District 2 with a crucial 72-66 victory over Liberty Christian in the regular-season finale. The Trojans are lethal from beyond the arc, averaging nearly 70 points per game over their last five contests.

Senior captain Reece Walker is a constant threat, with the green light to shoot at all times. In Trinity Christian's matchup against Bishop Lynch on Feb. 4, Walker led the Trojans with 22 points, knocking down four of the team's 13 three-pointers.
