Young Friars Fall in Regionals Against Defending Champions

| By:
PLANO, Texas – The Bishop Lynch men's soccer team entered the TAPPS Division I regional match riding high on confidence after a thrilling comeback win over Nolan Catholic in the area round. However, the young squad faced the state's top-ranked team and fell 2-0 on the road to John Paul II.

Despite the season-ending loss, the men's soccer program continues to trend in the right direction. For the first time since the 2019-20 season, the Friars recorded at least 11 wins and finished above .500. They accomplished that feat with a roster featuring only three seniors.

While the team will miss the leadership of Lucas Martinez, Andres Perez, and Alex Aceituno, plenty of firepower remains. Non-seniors accounted for 48 of the Friars' 56 goals this season, along with 33 of the team's 40 assists. Head Coach Stewart Brown is building a program that will have plenty of eyes on it next season.

The Bishop Lynch Athletic Department and men's soccer team thank Friar Nation for their support throughout the season.
