The Bishop Lynch women's basketball program is traveling down I35 to Waco, Texas to play in the TAPPS 6A Semi-Finals against Antonian College Preparatory High School. The game will be played at the University High School with the tip-off scheduled for 8:00 p.m. CT.

This is the first time these two programs have met since 2016-17 and the sixth since 2003-04. The Friars hold a 6-0 record in those matchups, including a 59-50 victory in the 2016-17 TAPPS Semi-Final game the last time they met. 

Get to know the Friars:
Bishop Lynch is 26-12, 9-3 on the season, and finished second in TAPPS 6A-District 1. The Friars have won seven straight games coming into this semi-final contest, including a 64-7 victory over Incarnate Word Academy in the Area round and a 53-33 victory over Concordia Lutheran in the Regionals. 

Get to know the Apaches:
Antonian is 34-7, 12-0 on the season, and finished as the undefeated champions of TAPPS 6A-District 2. The Apaches have won 15 straight games coming into this semi-final contest, including a 58-52 victory over John Paul II in the Regionals.

Common Opponents:
The Friars and the Apaches have played six common opponents this season - Incarnate Word Academy, Concordia Lutheran, John Paul II, San Marcos, Liberty Christian, and Sam Houston. Antonian went 8-0 against the six schools, and BL went 6-1.

Players to Watch:

Antonian
#23 Kyzarriah Fox: Fox is an explosive freshman guard who leads the Apaches in points (16.6), rebounds (8.5), steals (2.6), and blocks (1.4). She likes to shoot the deep ball, having attempted 248 on the season and making 32% of them. Kyzarriah was a big part of the Apache victory over John Paul II, scoring 22 points and grabbing 14 rebounds with four assists. 

#1 Shaniyah Fox: Not to be confused with Kyzarriah, Shaniyah is a sophomore who is second on the team in points, averaging 12.2 on the season. She can impact the game other than through scoring as she grabs 5.7 rebounds and has 2.2 steals per game. 

Bishop Lynch
#11 Alice Thackston: Thackston is the Friars' best three-point shooter (34%) and the senior is averaging 10.1 points per game this season. She is also a great defensive player as she leads the team in blocks (22) and is third in defensive rebounds (90). Thackston will need both parts of her game on par for the Friars tonight. 

#3 Mikah Ford: Every time Ford steps onto the court, she knows she is the best athlete out there. Ford's quickness and savviness helped her average over two steals per game and nearly three transition points per game. The senior will need her defensive expertise to shut down both Fox's.
